Jab We Met

listen watch this for 2 reasons:1) the "long distance" shots of cars and trains except they are clearly toys2) a one minute long orgasmic hug which was the most awkward and hilarious scene i've ever seen

Jab We Met

I'm not even sure that he and Geet even had a casual relationship. Most probably a one-sided crush from Geet which Anshuman found cute and childish considering her nature. He never reciprocated his love but Geet being an idiot ran away from her home even without telling him anything. She probably thought that he would have to accept her considering that she left everything for him, just like it happens in movies. But when he rejected her love and whatever sacrifice she thought she was giving for him, reality struck her and she realized that this is real life, not a feature film.

But still Aditya painted Anshuman as a jerk who used Geet. When actually there was no fault of his that a crazy girl is in love with him but he doesn't feel the same way about her. Geet calling him and abusing him after so many months just made him feel guilty of being the cause of her sufferings. He was ready to marry Geet only to save her honour and also that she could return back to her family. But then at the last moment Geet realizes that no, she actually loves Aditya and ditches Anshuman. Doesn't even apologize to him for causing him so much trouble. How can anyone not feel bad for this guy? I legit felt sad for him that he got caught up in the mess of two confused people who are not sure about their feelings.

It was clearly stated in the movie that Anshuman was Geet's boyfriend. It seems like Anshuman was never serious about this relationship, forget about marrying her. But naive small town girl Geet started dreaming of marrying him like any other Asian girl would have, hence Geet is not here to be blamed. Anshuman never rejected her love, but rather refused to accept her as a wife when she insisted to marry him. Their whole relationship status was portrayed pretty well in "Aaoge jab tum o sajna" song. Anshuman should be at fault because he never bothered to know how Geet might had been doing during the entire time when Geet was a runaway and had been living all alone by herself. Even Anshuman himself later on admitted to Geet that he was at fault, if Aditya was wrong to judge Anshuman then Anshuman would have never accepted his mistake. Hence it's absurd to say that Anshuman was nothing but a crush of Geet! I mean where is this coming from??

Geet and Anshuman were in a relationship where the former was more serious (one man woman), she even ran away from her own wedding and baaammm without any calls, msg/information she comes in front of him with his whole family watching with the decision of getting married. He got shocked/surprised/scared as any of the JERK boyfriends who MAY promise about the sun and the moon and then step back just when they are needed. I remember the kismat song where the girl too runs away and the boy doesn't accept her and gets married- it's the same scenario here

Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has admitted that she was unaware that the 2007 movie Jab We Met would go on to become one of the most memorable and special films in her repertoire. The actor, whose character Geet, is still loved by many, spoke about how unexpected it was for her because she had her bets on the film Tashan, which she was simultaneously shooting for.

There's nothing normal about the times we live in but it's time to start bringing back some semblance of normalcy into our lives. Bollywood seems to have started on that note too, with shoots resuming and extra precautions being taken, whether it's on the sets with the restricted number of crew that's permitted to be present or regular sanitisation and masks and PPEs becoming commonplace on film and TV sets. Unlock 4 is well and truly underway and celebs, Bollywood stars and film and TV crews have resumed work. In this photo feature, Mirror photographers bring you candid pictures of Bollywood stars and celebs as they get back to work - masks firmly in place.

We haven't seen much of Vicky Kaushal of late so this is a welcome change - as if the red carpet was rolled out for him. the Uri actor was spotted at a suburban studio in Mumbai. Photo by Nilesh Wairkar/ MMCL

Filmmaker Karan Johar was spotted at the Mumbai airport on his return from Goa. The producer-director had left for the sunny beaches of Goa a few days earlier along with his mother and twins. A day before he returned, he issued a statement clarifying that Krishna Prasad, who is under the NCB scanner in the drugs case is not employed with Dharma Productions, nor is he a close aide of Karan Johar, as was being suggested by some news channels. Saif and Bebo recently announced that they were expecting their second child. That hasn't stopped her from continuing with her shoots. In fact, one of the first shoots she did soon after the announcement was from the comfort of her own home, complete with make-up artists donning PPE kits. Photo by Raju Shelar/ MMCL

Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor) is introduced as a heartbroken man as the girl he loved was getting married to someone else. He is physically present but mentally lost deep into the darkness. Unable to muster courage he drifts away from his home and aimlessly boards a train. Call it destiny, Geet (Kareena Kapoor) a gorgeous looking but annoyingly chatty yet very lively young girl boards the same train to go to her home town Bhatinda.

Kareena Kapoor is an equal match. The always babbling lively girl role is a perfect match to her personality. For the first time I really enjoyed her acting. This would be the big break of her career and her best ever performance so far.

jab we met is fantastic ramance.Shahid is at best of his career. He looks smart first time in movie.Kareena is awsome. Lokks very fair without more makeup.Songs are the soul of movie. they rock

Since Kareena and Shahid were the lead pair, who also happened to be dating at the time, did we just want them to get together because we were wired about their relationship or did Geet and Aditya truly deserve each other?

In his review, NDTV's Saibal Chatterjee wrote, Farzi isn't the sort of show that strings together action sequences and shootouts simply for mere visceral effect. It factors into the narrative an examination of the nature of need and the dynamics of greed and places it on a canvas of constantly shifting emotions and relationships.

If you saw the film as a schoolboy or girl, you probably tried to imitate Geet's carefree style of speech. Jab We Met, which came out 16 years ago, is still one of those movies that can be re-watched because it can change your mood in a jiffy.

In contrast to the stereotypical roles that women in Bollywood films typically play, Kareena Kapoor's portrayal of Geet was a ray of sunshine. She had no inhibitions, was not afraid to speak her mind, and had complete faith in romance.

Released in 2007, Jab We Met is a romantic comedy by the celebrated director Imtiaz Ali. With Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in the leading roles, the movie traces the journey of Aditya Kashyap and Geet Kaur Dhillon from the dark and scary alleys of Ratlam to the joyous, yellow fields of Bhatinda.

While Pritam is still remembered for breathing life into the characters and scenes of the movie through his unparallelled music, the credit for the background score goes to Sanjoy Chowdhury. Not to forget, the lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil, the ultimate wordsmith.

The song opens with the camera focused on Aditya's face. We see him responding to the initial beats of the song through rhythmic movements of his feet and fingertips. This prepares the ground for the song to be unfolded gradually in front of the audience. While the 'nagada' beats represent the joy, love and happiness in the Dhillon family in anticipation of Geet's marriage to her childhood friend, the song also shows a different side of Aditya.

Performed marvellously by Sonu Nigam and Javed Ali, the song also has a brief section sung by the women characters. This short portion reminds one of traditional Punjabi wedding songs. With the appropriate inclusion of bhangra steps and participation of men, women and children in the celebration, the song fittingly portrays the liveliness of Punjab.

This song is everything that Geet stands for. While the song is vibrant and full of life, the lyrics echo the desires of Geet's heart, madly in love with Anshuman. Shot amidst the picturesque mountain ranges of Shimla and Manali, the music deftly blends the regional tunes of Himachal Pradesh with conventional Bollywood tones. 041b061a72
